I have a feeling that this year will be one that they both remember as being a defining one in terms of their relationship as sisters.
They ride to school together every morning.
They are both in the high school youth at church and they attend the same public school.
They are the only ones who understand “what it’s like” at their school.
Summer helps Pickles with her Spanish homework. And tells her where to turn in shot records. And how to get to tutorials.
From what I hear, there is a dance party in the car on the way to school/church when they are together.
They have attended pep rallies and a school dance together. Twin day was easy since they are starting to look more and more alike these days. They have been in a theater/choir production together. And Pickles has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of Summer’s friends… especially when Summer isn’t around.
They borrow each others’ clothes. And shoes. And who knows what else.
Summer likes to be obnoxious and scare Pickles whenever she gets the chance. And she sings to her in the mornings just to hear her grumble. It’s her love language. And Pickles is okay with that.
I’ve spent many prayer times over the years praying for them to love each other and enjoy the friendship that comes with being sisters.
I am thankful that I am getting to see some of that friendship blossom between them. As their mom, it is something that I treasure…
“How wonderful, how beautiful,
when brothers and sisters get along!” ~ Psalm 133:1
